Me again, sorry!   

It's the first time I've grown summer purple sprouting.  We've had three or four pickings.  I had the audacity to leave my allotment for a week to go camping in Dorset and now I'm back I see the plants are all in flower.   

If I cut these flowers back, what are the chances of more purple sprouting, erm, sprouting?  Or would I be better off digging up these plants and putting Winter purple sprouting in instead?

I'd dig them up now as since they've flowered, the chances are that the plant thinks it's done it's work and will die, especially given the hot weather at the moment. Mind you if you've got nothing to put in the ground then you may as well chop them back and see what happens.

Thanks Nobbie.  As it happens I've been looking for space to plant my Winter purple sprouting, so it's worked out quite well really!

I would recommend planting your winter sprouting in another place and try to do some crop rotation to be on the safe side
