We don't do hatching eggs, we still feel like novices and don't have the space/time etc  :(  so we'd rather play it safe and get pullets/POL's.

Thanks for the link anyway.  ;)

We're going to go tommorow, there's no use shying away from auctions.

How else are you supposed to gain experience in how auctions work - do I HAVE to buy??

I could come away with something or nothing, doesn't matter really.....

Keep your hands in your pockets or you might bid for something you don't want!!   ::)

Hope you enjoy your time at the Auction and don't get too carried away with all the lovely birds.

Lovely and they have made themselves right at home already.

How old are they?

Says in the catalogue, 'P.O.L 2011'

So that must mean born late 2011/early 2012, looking at their combs, that sounds about right for how big they are then...?  ???

I'll try and get better photos when they have settled a bit more, just being near them at the moment, they shy away into the corner - bit obvious really.  ::)

They look like my Black Rocks were at 26 weeks so you might have eggs for breakfast.   ;)

Yeah! later on the other two decided to lay  :D so we ended up with three dark brown eggs!  8)

Not bad for their first day here.

Just need to sort out the 'pecking order' now.  :tongue2:

NOT looking forward to it  :(

Been letting them see each other today, 3 three of my current chooks looked over, clucked and carried on being chooks.

The other two became hysterical! Jumping up at mesh shouting and squawking, basically they turned into wild 'dogs'!!

How long will it take for them to settle? If at all!
