Where have the sticky traps gone?
« on: March 17, 2011, 15:59 »
Hi all - now I'm not claiming to have gone to every shop, but I'm used to picking up yellow sticky traps in B&Q or Wilkos but this year I can't find any. Any idea why? guess i'll just have to get them online...

Try your local Garden Centre or Nursery, the ones around here seem to have them.
I did buy Two packets of seven last year as I had trouble finding them.

Two online suppliers I have used (who have been efficient, but I have no idea on price of carriage etc) in case you can't find them locally

http://www.jfcmonro.co.uk/showdetails.asp?id=155 - £3.30 for 10
http://www.3ch.co.uk/plant-aid/pest-control/sticky-insect-traps/prod_406.html £5.00 for 7

Make your own with a piece of cardboard smeared with treacle.

I have a stack of them  .... an aunt gave them to my father every year so we've still plenty... but not seen them for sale locally for a year or two.

Not banned by the EEC as inhumane or the wrong colour surely?
