They are happy to peck at sweet corn, eating up the corn and leaving the core in just one day.


Do you cook the corn on the cob first or just throw it in? Have just given mine a couple of raw cobs and they are completely ignoring them. Not sure whether it's because they are not interested or because it needs cooking first.

mine have them raw - but you usually find they are suspicious of new things so won't go near until one of them plucks up the courage to peck at the stuff. Yesterday mine had a marrow - anyone would have though I was trying to kill them till they discovered the seeds inside it  :lol:

They've eaten them now  :) Good thing really as I got 4 for £1 on the market this afternoon and have two left. Sadly our corn on the allotment has been absolutely useless this year. DId I see amention of runner beans somewhere as a chicken toy/treat? Just been given a bagful by my Mum and only me at home for the next week.
