You don't half get a lot of snails with raised beds
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

timber from pallets will last no more than 2 years when you have soil against them dont matter what you treat em with, for the price and longer lasting timber your better off getting tanalised timber,I have seen decking timber on freecylcle a number of times
feed the soil not the plants
organicish

To true Shaun they won't last ! if you can't get em off freecycle then how about your local reclaim yard ? Mine came from there tanalised etc about a quid for a 9' length.

They have banned old railway sleepers for veg growing now because of the tar and greosote.
They also do not recomend them were their are children
Ive have used them for years, but listen to the experts,so no longer use them

Why not just raise them with soil ? edging of any kind will harbour slugs and things.
