Evening all,

I came home from work to find 1 of my 5 day old chicks extremely floppy! I pulled her out of the box and thought she was about to die, she was particularly floppy to one side.  She looks a bit stronger now but can't stay awake and is spitting out little bits of what looks like water.

I have her in a box in the airing cupboard now, I though maybe she got cold but all the others are ok. She is a Pekin.

I say she it could be a he.

Any advice very gratefully received!

Do they have heat (other than the airing cupboard)? Is it eating and drinking? Were they all up and about running round prior to this?

Sadly she died last night.

Still no idea what happened or was wrong, they have heat and have plenty of food and water available all day.

Very sad. Luckily all the others seem ok, maybe she was a weak one but I didn't see any signs of this until yesterday.

Sorry for your loss, unfortunately chicks can, and do fade very fast, even for no apparant reason
