does it take, on average, for a hen to resume laying, please?

I think the earliest I've had one start laying again was 5 weeks :)

ooh good so not long to wait for my cuckoo maran to start laying again - babies are now 4 weeks old  :D

yes 5weeks onwards...I have a broody looking after some chicks, didn't realise she had started layng until went to check another broody (well 3 in the same nest :unsure:) and thought, thats odd....a few extra!! madam had been sneaking into the broody house laying an egg and sneaking out again!!! :D :D
