Title: Plant identification please
Post by: vet on October 06, 2020, 13:50
This plant has migrated from my neighbours garden, she’s not sure what it is.
Grows to about six feet and has clusters of dark buds which opened to small pink flowers in the summer. Seems to be quite vigorous.
Any suggestions would be useful.

I have that in my garden.  The leaves have quite a pungent smell, and it’s flowers are lovely.

Clerodendrum bungei.  It’s a great plant for the back of the boarder but it will pop up a long distance off.  It’s no problem to pull up the bits you don’t want.

It’s about 7 ft tall... hence the skyward looking photo.

Thanks for that Aunt Sally
As you say it does travel, it started growing out of the middle of my shrub border :nowink:

It’s easy to bull out when it’s big enough to grab hold of.
