Onion sets

I planted some onion sets in modules outside ,they were quite wet moved them in to cold greenhouse went away for a week now some have white fluff on em are they ok or is this a type of white rot

The white rot 'white fluff' only shows on the roots of onions... do you have any pics?

Thanks for reply fluff on set rather than roots planted in shop bought compost I take it white rot cannot be caused by poor practices and is more of a spore virus
