On7th October we got 3 ex-battery hens.
 We have 3 hens already.
They are now sleeping in the same coop and are ok outside free ranging.
 but when i put them back into the run i've tried a couple of times to let them all together to feed but the ex-batts just run into the coop out of the Gals way. They will try to come out to eat, except little Rosie who's got no confidence. But are chased away by the Gals.
So i still have the run halved with wire. I've now put a trough feeder so they have to eat out of the same feeder albeit from either side of the wire.
 i halve the coop in the day as it has 2 doors so they lay together.
If the Gals get to aggressive i will give them time out on their on for 10mins, which works for a while. but i can't be out there all the time and as soon as i come in the Gals bully the ex-bats.
What can i do? or am i just being impatient? I just want one happy flock

Hi there - I'm no expert but have had exbatts for a year or more now... merging them can be bit of nightmare...  I notice you've said the run is halved by wire.  Could you pop one of the established hens in with the exbatts so that's it's out numbered and hopefully a bit more receptive to them... And gradually build up from there?  Just a thought.... wish you all the best!
