Introductions
« on: April 11, 2011, 11:36 »
My friends have 3 chickens. 2 were sadly got by Mr Fox last night, there is a sad blue Maran left.  I am going to take her on, and keep her with my 5 rather lively ex bats.

Any advice?

Thats awful for your friends they must be devastated. I imagine the remaining hen will be very stressed so I would think she needs to be introduced gradually to give her chance to get over that. Do you have a small house/run that could be placed next to yours so that start to get used to each over 2/3 weeks?

have an old puppy crate which will be OK for a couple of days.  She's gonna be pretty traumatised anyway the poor thing.
