Hi guys, finaly my village in Italy has Wi Fi so here I am again.
You may remember that I bought an Einhell rotovator and promised that I would let people know how I got on.
Einhell sell this machine for 350 Euros, I couldn't figuer how they could do it so cheap and I think it's because most of it has to be put together by the buyer.
I'm braindead where machinery is concerned and a deal of the time it was pure guesswork. But I managed, took about two hours. Instructions were not very good,in all languages except English.
It started first time and always does, so far.
It rotovates deep enough and I've rotovated 5 of my terraces, each terrace being 40ft long and 20ft wide.
It does have a couple of drawbacks, one is a silly pin that holds the bar that controls depth. That vibrated off within a couple of hours and I replaced with a simple nut and bolt. The other is no reverse, so turning it at the end of a run became a bit of a chore.
But I think that for a bit over £300 pounds. It feels like a good buy.
I'm going to try it out on some land that hasn't been dug for some years and I guess that will be a good test.
One thing, the oil recommended is 10 w 30 and I can't seem to find it here, would I be doing any harm if I used, 10 w 40, can anyone advise. thanks.
cheers Arthur

I would have thought the 10w 40 would be fine.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

you will need cooler climates to find 10/40. Just stuff the oil you can find in and change regularly it will be the life of you engine. If you lived in a cold place thiner oil would  be more of an issue
always have a target
and an objective.

Ah, thanks guys, what do these numbers mean? So 10 w 30 is thicker oil than 10 w 40.

This is a make I haven't seen before, but I recently bought a hedgecutter from ALDI and would you believe, it's an Einhell (£30). As I know a little German, I translate the name as One Hell, I must say it's one hell of a piece of equipment for the price.
