Ripening Peppers
« on: September 07, 2015, 22:24 »
I have a pepper plant which has a good crop of fruit, but has got rot at the base of the main stem. Most of the fruit is still green. If I cut it off the plant ( to avoid it rotting) will they ripen off the plant like tomatoes?
We come from the earth, we return to the earth, and in between we garden.

I have ripened shop-bought green peppers on the windowsill, but they seem to go a bit soft at the same time.  They end up red but a bit wizened, still good for cooking, but not for eating raw in a salad.

I've never managed to ripen them off the plant, they seem to rot first  :(
