Thought we would like to share our first picking - our third year, the first two years were poor.  This year we applied plenty of compost.

My strawberries are new this year (as am i!!) and most seem to be sending out runners rather than fruiting! The pigeons seem to eat most of the fruit!

We had our first few for tea tonight and they were absolutely delicious. There is just no comparison between food picked straight from the parent plant and the stuff that's been hanging around on supermarket shelves for days.
