rusty broad bean plants

I have some Broad bean plants that have rust spots on the lower leaves. The plants are quite sturdy otherwise as they were sown directly, I have other BB's in another spot that I transplanted, they have little or no rust but are a bit more leggy than the others

Do you know if it will kill the plant or spread to the beans? The plant has loads of flowers on it so I was hoping for a good crop...

could it just be afids?, mine are showing marks and the guy next door said that?

I had rust pustules on my broad beans a couple of days ago. Pulled them up. The rust appeared really quickly - couple of days - and it was all over the leaves. Luckily I had most of the young pods off beforehand.

its probably chocolate spot - been very popular round this way - will lower yield a bit but younger plants should grow out of it - mainly hits autumn sown (although my spring sown have it as well!!!)

nothing can be done, organically
