Title: Pecking me!
Post by: camelliagirl on July 17, 2010, 19:32
I've just been away for a week and left chooks in Hubby's care.  Having been in to let them out in their run this morning and later to collect eggs, they have been pecking at me!  Have they just got used to someone else whilst I've been away and are attacking the stranger??

they peck you as they think you come bearing food, which you usually do. It's not personal  :)

It's also just dawned on me that I was wearing flipflops and had red nailvarnish on my toes plus my cut-off trousers had some dangly "wormlike" ties hanging from the bottom of them!!!

My girls always come running incase i have something for them.
They only seem to peck me when i'm on my knee's cleaning them out now.
Had one the otherday pecking at my hair, as i had walked through a spider web & obviously had a few spiders on me  :D
Where abouts in Devon are you?
I'm in Newton Abbot.
Only asking as i haven't seen many people near me on this forum!

Not that far from me then. Used to love Slapton Sand as a kid!
