The reason the above posted site gives info on using Jeyes for soil sterlising is that the website is the American one.

It is illegal to use for that purpose in Europe, not America.

I was advised by someone at my local garden centre to use armillatox on my soil to get rid of honey fungus. I haven't done so as I don't really like to use such things unless absolutely necessary but is this illegal any way then?

Yes it is, people working at a GC should know better.

Other non-approved (and therefore illegal) "products" would therefore include:
Pi**ing in the garden,
Brook Bond tea,
Perrier water,
and mulching with cardboard, newspaper or electoral manifestos.

the grumpy old lady next door wound me up no end again the other week so she ended up being composted. But the thick layers of perfume and talc she used to wear have probably had a detrimental effect on the soil.
