Well it looks golden pencilled, but I don't know if its a Hamburg from this angle. It looks pretty young, but I'd hazard a guess at female. Do you know how old he/she is?

i was at an auction, and had brought some hens (17 in total)and a friend was walkin out with his unsold stock n just gave them me, n said they was around 5 weeks old (i dont think they was even ready to be off heat!) n lost 4 thats the remaining one, so having a guess, 18th of September, so going on the basis i think its around 3 months old ISH, but not sure, i know its on growers as thats what i feed it.. , but it dosnt seem to be getting any bigger then it is in that pic, i mean its in my light sussex chick hutch atm, n theyre almost the same size as that one now.. so i am at a loss!

Having looked at pictures of Hamburghs I don't think it is a Hamburgh, but we'll be able to tell when it's older :) If its very small, perhaps bantam? Sorry, I don't have much experience with chicks!! Either way, it looks adorable and should bring you fun and joy!!

One of unknown breed of uncertain age (retired anyway)!
I ask because you say you went and bought 17 hens which I thought was unusual.
I suppose 4 kids eat a lot of eggs :)
