Title: onion and shallot sets
Post by: barney rubble on April 30, 2009, 15:50
??? As I posted yesterday - I'm very new to growing and although this might sound like the dimmest question do I get one onion per bulb planted and the same for shallots, or do they provide several for each bulb? I've scoured the packets and all the veg growing books I have and none of them tell you what your crop yield is in terms of the no of onions per bulb planted, just expected yeild in kilos for the packet or length of row planted. Many thanks

Onions grow into larger Onions, Shallots give you more Shallots at the base of each bulb.

Thanks Bob - thats what I was hoping for - but lots of onions at the base would have been welcome too!
