wow she can fly!!
« on: December 30, 2011, 07:32 »
My speckledy Rosa escaped from her enclosure, firstly I thought she jumped from an old bush so cut that down, then she escaped again, the other day I saw how, she jumped from the top of her attatched run (3ft high) run was 8 ft from fence, flew over 6 ft fence and landed 5 ft the other side! I really didn't think they could fly like that, attached run is no more, hopefully this should put a stop to it, what she doesn't realise is the enclosure (this is at least 40ftx40ft)is to protect her from the fox which was in garden several weeks ago.

You could clip one wing (this will help unbalance her) and then in future years she will hopefully be a bit heavier and not able to fly.
I personally don't clip so that mine can fly to get out of harms way (sadly this has led to loads of them sleeping in the trees and are impossible to now catch  :(.
Staffies are softer than you think.

Yes didn't want to clip her wing just incase fox got in somehow, hopefully she can't launch herself of anything else and the problem is solved! ;)
