Recipe for stringy french beans
« on: August 13, 2007, 23:54 »
Return from two weeks holiday and everything has bolted. Can anybody please advise on a decent recipe for overgrown & over large dwarf french beans which have gone slightly stringy?

Thanks.

David. :?

Hi Fenwick - welcome to the forum and I see you've met Munty already.  I've moved your post to the Cooking forum (which is what the dear lamb was telling you).

And, yes, if you'd like to introduce yourself (with or without love bites), then the Welcome forum is the place.

Hi Fenwick. I have found one recipe for using stringy french beans. It is a soup. You boil a kilo of cut up french beans in a litre of chicken stock for about 10 minutes until tender. Then put the beans through a mouli to remove the stringy bits. (I should image a sieve would work, but the beans would need to be very tender and press the beans through the sieve with the back of a spoon.) Then heat the stock and bean puree and add 400 grams of diced potatoes and 200 grams of diced  chorizo. Cook until the potatoes are ready and season.
