Hi All,

I have been giving the option of an allotment but it is on a slope.  Not a really steep slope, but definately a slope!

What do you think is the best way to manage this site?  I'm wondering if I would get the most out of it if I were to introduce a terracing design so I have say 5 or 6 flat beds?

Any ideas?

Forgot to add, it is S/W facing so does get plenty of light!

doesn't look too much of a slope, just dig your rows across the slope and see what happens

Will do, I might try and start some sort of terracing as well but I've got enough to do getting it weeded and sorted out first!

At least you won't be troubled by drainage problems.

Very true!

I am actually now waiting to hear about a level plot that has become overgrown with brambles.  It is very flat and in a better position so hopefully I'll be able to have that one instead.

The sloped plot is mine at the moment if I want it, but I'd rather the flat one!

Definitely keep any beds facing the same direction as the top one so you minimize any erosion or flooding.

Well I've had some good news, the flat plot is mine instead now! 

Current tennant doesn't want it anymore so as soon as I have the paperwork signed off I can get started.
