Plants for Screening off utility area
« on: January 29, 2010, 20:38 »
Can anyone suggest suitable plans to create a screen around 1.8/2m high. Need to be evergreen and dense.
Are you looking for an allotment (full or to share) in South East Sheffield. PM me for details.

How about bamboo? - we used it to cover up fencing panels, it's worked a treat......almost too well!!

I planted some bamboo as a screen at the side of an old shed which was ugly but very useful... the bamboo was a total success for about four years... Now it is taking over the world and so difficult to keep under control!   The young plant was taken from a group of elderly plants that obviously were contained somehow by a raised stone wall...  I would suggest any bamboo used for a screen should be bought from a garden centre and to be a non-invasive variety.
