Bug and Bee boxes
« on: June 14, 2009, 09:19 »
Hi all

Forgot to mention in my other post that we made 2 ladybird boxes yesterday, i hoping to get masonary bees and ladybirds................Wait and see i guess

Is there anything i can do to attract them in, i dont really want to buy in larvae or specific attractant was hoping really for something that wont cost me anything.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Very similar to this:

Only instaed of the half log i just used more bamboo's to make it bigger and put a piece of wood under them to keep them in place.

Hope you can see this??

We made 2 more or less the same as masonary bees and ladybirds are really just after something to burrow into - bamboo canes slightly burrowed out are bril.

Very impressed with the ladybird box JJM, with a bit of luck you'll get loads, I saw loads up at the plot yesterday...could be a good year for them ( hopefully) :D

Hi you can buy an attractant, wildforms sell it.
I bought it for my parents last year and they have done well so far.
