Good morning everyone,
"Uveal melanoma represents ∼85% of all ocular melanomas and up to 50% of patients develop metastatic disease. Metastases are most frequently localised to the liver and, as few patients are candidates for potentially curative surgery, this is associated with a poor prognosis.29 Aug 2016".And so it begins...(I am loath to call it a journey).
After my run in with the ocular melanoma in the back of my right eye the cancer has landed in my liver (4 or 5 places).
Well ‘ere we go... I had my first session of immunotherapy yesterday at Department A12 RUH Bath. After taking my ‘leading particulars’ I was sat in a posh leather chair as they drip fed the above concoction into my hand via canula (no bruising yet). I go for the next ‘pint’ in six weeks time.
(I passed the time, 45 minutes listening to Julian & Sandy!)
A downside if you can call it that is trying to understand a young very attractive nurse explaining EVERYTHING to me through a mask.
Please feel free to Gurgle it, 'tis frightening but keeping one's chin up.
Cheers, Tony.
