Mooli radish is quite widely available.  I know Mr Fothergills sell it (seed) but am sure there are others.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

The moles are probably having to dig new burrows because their old ones are flooded. :)

Trikidiki, manure is no problem, green or in fact any colour you care to name. We have three geriatric Shetlands who spend most of their time producing it. I think we have the most manured gardens in Cumbria

And this morning, having filled the space with new seeds and some more leek plants, I had a fascinating five minutes watching fresh mole-hills appear in the newly prepared beds. Another call-out for the mole-catcher! Local wild-life really does seem to be extracting the urine this month

That's because of all the manure you use.  :tongue2: An old allotment neighbour used to say he didn't use manure because you got worms then and that attracted the moles.  ???

Oh, I realise that but there are two plus points:
I get better crops
I get entertained by my mate Mark, the mole-catcher for half an hour

Mooli radish is worth a go if you have not grown it before.
It makes a salad great grated !

Be prepared to dig deep to extract them ! :)

Surely that should be moley radish?

Well, Mark the mole catcher (mowdie gadgy in N Cumbrian parlance) came to check his traps this morning. He said that in his experience, he'd never killed three moles in such a small area before. The local crow family was pleased, I put the corpses on top of the gate posts and they'd disappeared within seconds along with a decapitated baby rabbit that the cat presented me with
