Last year's toms...
« on: April 04, 2016, 06:03 »
I kept a plant going during the winter, because I'd never tried taking tom cuttings before.

The parent is still going, although a bit weary, and these are the two main side shoots and the top, which as you can see, have already started flowering!

Like a lummox, I took several cuttings last autumn, and then carefully lost the tags, and three popped off so I'm not sure if they are Crimson Crush, or another variety...

Their 2016 country cousins are in the pic, and they've got that size in a day, and will only just be in time before they look like Legs and Co (remember them..:0)

Not sure what to do with them next, I may just sit and hum a tune, or maybe just sit...

I'd take the flowers stems off. Give them a chance to produce a decent plant before fruiting,

Agree with removing these flowers. Any side shoots can be bent off and stuck in as cuttings.

Thanks both! Flowers removed now, and I may take another side shoot when they've had a chance to settle in!
