Leeks and onion moth catterpillars
« on: September 17, 2006, 20:48 »
I have just had to pull up my entire leek crop because of what I assume are onion moth catterpillars. Does anyone out there know how I could avoid such an infestation in future by perhaps companion planting or somthing else along an organic line?

Hallo Patty sorry to hear about your leek troubles.  My only suggestion would be that you take care to rotate your crops so you're not planting onions or leeks or garlic in the same spot where you've just had the problem.
Gardening organically on chalky, stony soil.
