Title: Howard rotavator

i have a howard rotavator that was given to me it has a single cylinder kohler enging ad works well but however i tried to use it recently on a freinds new allotment and the lever that engages the tines has stoped working so the wheels drive noproblem but the tines wont turn any advice or help would be greatly recived

sorry i did not respond more quickly. could you tell me what model of howard rotovator it is? i have`nt had one of these apart for a very long time. if i remember correctly there are some pins in the gearbox that snap when under too much load, they are there to protect the gearbox. spares for howards are very thin on the ground these days.

I think Tiller parts down in Kent is still going, but he isn't cheap, but he usally has spares for Howards.  he has a website. www.tillerparts.com
