Title: Growing kiwi in a polytunnel
Post by: Offwego on June 17, 2018, 18:29
I was very lucky to be given 2  kiwi fruit plants for Father's Day, I have planted them in the new polytunnel, they are self pollinating, does anybody else grow them in a tunnel if so any tips for growth?

I have one supposedly self pollinating kiwi outside on a south facing wall.  It flowers beautifully, but sets no fruit - and I have never seen a bee or other insect on it! So perhaps the lack of fruit isn't so surprising.   I'm considering getting the pollinating brush (aka my eyeshadow brush!) out this year ....  I would love to know how you get on with pollination inside ...

I inherited a plant growing inside the greenhouse on the plot. In the 2 completed summers I've been on that plot it hasn't even flowered. If it does nothing this year it's coming out.
