I've heard about them there poultry auctions and seeing as the search for the bantam buff orpington is falling on stoney ground I'm wondering whether visiting an auction would be a good thing? :?

Has anyone been to any? How would I find my local one? (derbyshire) Would I find what I'm looking for???

Where about's in Derbyshire Mick?  I'm not really sure about closeness but if your Buxton way then there's always Chelford Market?

Ive heard that buying at auction isnt the best idea, why dont you just put a post up on here asking if anyone knows where you can get one? Ive always found everyone really helpful.

I would personally avoid auctions unless you're confident you can spot good from bad.

Would rather use a trusted breeder/dealer.

I had a banty blubell orpington off him a few weeks and she has just started laying   and a friendly little thing too
