Melton Mowbray is the best and is only 45mins away.  I too live between Cov and Rugby somewhere along the A428, I bet we are almost neighbours.

I have some Light Sussex x RIR in the incubator right now and the next bacth is Hubbards for meat

If your interested I could hatch some for you?

I live near you too! Harbury.

We may be interested in getting some table birds later in spring when we are a bit more set up at the alloment.

Good to know about the auction too.

Henley in Arden hold a poultry market every Wednesday morning. the problem is they are due to close in the near future for redevelopment. Henley is about 10 miles from Leamington Spa.

Nice one, I completely forgot about Henley, what a lovely little town it is as well...

Hi Snozzer,
As you may have guessed I live in L/Spa. and am thinking of rearing table birds myself. Do you currently have any large cockerel birds for sale? I'm not fussed about breed, just size.
Cheers.

East or West of the fosse?[/quote]

Sorry mate missed this one, west I think, :?  lets say I'm about as close as you can get to cov without actually living there which unfortunately means aeroplanes over head every five minutes (ok maybe every thirty but its still annoying). So in a few weeks I was going to start looking for some hatching eggs for table birds.
Last year I did rhode island reds and they were really scared of the planes, they'd run under the willows doing the alarm call when ever they saw one, while the goldlines stood there looking at them like they'd gone nuts.
Which I suppose raises the question which table birds are chilled out enough to cope with aeroplanes?
