Title: Strawberry Leaf Miner?
Post by: Auntiemogs on November 19, 2011, 06:10
Hi all. I noticed last week some squiggly, light coloured lines on a couple of my strawberry leaves.  :( Yesterday there were quite a few leaves affected. Do you think it could be leaf miner and if so is there anything I can do about it? Worried because I'm expecting some new plants over the next couple of months and would rather bin these (about 30 young uns in two hanging pouches) than have it spread to my new plants. Many thanks, Mags

Just take off the affected leaves and the others should be fine -- the grubs are confined to their tunnels and it the adults that can move between plants  :)

Donlt put the leaves in the compost though: best to burn them or squidge the miners

Thanks Sunshine! I shall take off the affected leaves and dry them out & give them a dowsing with some neem oil mix then put them in quarantine & see how they do.  :)
