Title: Yellow chicken mess
Post by: TonyC on May 12, 2016, 11:10
Can anyone please help with a question on chicken mess I'm finding in a morning, one of my chickens seems to be excreting a watery strong yellow colored fluid on the  wood chips, it seems like its comes out with some force as it makes a mess over a few inches, all the birds are eating and drinking well and don't look lethargic in anyway.
I introduced 2 x new birds around 1 week ago and presume its one of these as it has just started recently.
They are on Verm-x 3 days a month for parasites etc.
Any help is appreciated and I have a picture if needed.
Thanks
TonyC

Hi there's a poo chart here you can see if normal or not

I think verm-x is a preventative rather than treatment. Most people use flubenvet to worm their flock.

Hi
Breeder I got the chicken from does not have Turkeys ,
The poo seems to stain the woodchips in a quite strong yellow mustard color, the birds are bright enough and come running when they see me for any bruised strawberries or grapes , it seems to be only one poo per night in the coop which has this yellow wet and slighty slime appearance.
I believe its one of the two Copper Marans , is it worth splitting the group up to find out, I have one really dominant hen who like to pick on any hen it has not seen for a day or two so I'm reluctant to start the whole process again if not required.
Thanks
