Hi Sharky , congrats on these plants they're looking really healthy.

I would suggest to start feeding once the first flowers start to form. If you are potting them on using multi purpose compost there should be enough nutrients in there for a good few weeks. In the meantime you could give them a boost with maxicrop seaweed extract.

There seems to be buds on them now, are they ready to be fed the next time I water them?

ive been grwing chillis for the last 3 years, and must admit they have become some what an addiction of mine, i know there are other growers on here that share my love, and im sure they will have probably a different opinion to me :? but i tend to only feed mine when they set their first fruit, as the above post says the composy will have sufficient nutes for the first flowering stage but they will need a boost when they start to set.... hope this helps 8)

also have to add, got my first things in the ground today, some spuds(desiree) and some shallots... :D  :D  :D

All I can say is congrats on your plants .

I just treat them like tomatoes..feed when you get the first fruits forming with a tomato fertilizer and don't forget to get the loo roll in the fridge around July. :D

I also treat all peppers more or less like tomatoes, except they need a lot less feeding, now I don't like to mess up on this thread , 'cos I grow them in rich well manured outdoor soil, so all I need more or less in way of feeding is a potash boost like half as often as per tomatoes, so I'd figure most compost will be too week for them.

Otherwise it doesn't matter when exactly you start 'feeding' as feeding as everybody usually learns and understands is potash boost mostly, don't want to start until the plant is ready for fruiting, which is flowering stage.

All other type of feeding is a completely different issue well complicated by what you are growing them in.

Thanks for the advice (and congrats) everyone, I'll leave the ferts for quite a while then!

There is no secret or none that I am aware of, I just planted the tiny seeds and they do all the work for me! I simply soak the pots every week or so and leave them on my window sill. :)

Thing is they are bigger than they are in these pictures now and wondering how large they will eventually get, can anyone give me an idea in inches? :?

It all depends on the variety.

They could grow from 12 inches to 4 ft+ depending on what sort they are.

If they are starting to get too tall you can always pinch out the growing tip to promote a bushier habit.

Very true, did you get any description of the variety with your seeds?
