never grown before, some are tiny one is growing. the one that had the biggest fruit looked as if it had been snipped on the vine it is on. OH has splinted it on both sides and wrapped red duck tape round it, so far it is holding on. time will tell. we are expecting strong winds tomorrow so maybe out of competition.

My pumpkins are only just getting going.  No flowers yet.  Not a good year for cucurbits.

I have 1 tennis ball sized fruit that I am cheering on desperately  ::)

The cheering on has worked.  Either that or the recent rain  ;)  I don't care so long as it grows

A delicate tiptoe amongst the burgoning squash and pumpkin foliage yesterday revealed this  :D

The small fruit next to it is a Buffy Ball.  The 2 plants are growing into each other, but a furtle under the leaves revealed lots of Buffy Ball fruits at a decent stage of devopment  :)

Anyone close to picking yet?

A plot visit yesterday revealed a pumpkin much changed from the piccie below.  Its starting to glow with reddish, orange skin, so I don't think it is going to grow much more, but the plant itself seems to be still green and lush.

My sole offering is not going to win any prizes for being the biggest, but I think it looks quite pretty  :)

Mine might not make it - they are very small still. And not looking too showy either.  :(

We had our allotment show/BBQ/Cake Off yesterday and we couldn't even come close to lifting the prizewinning pumpkin to measure it. I think a small child could have lived in it when hollowed out.  ::)

My efforts produced the group of pumpkins and squash in this picture.  They were cut on 30 August and have been drying in my shed. The largest is the centre one was done with some string today, I then came home and measured the string! I have now rummaged through my mum's sewing box ( she died nearly 30 years ago ) and found a soft tape measure which I used at the plot today,  Results are also attached, I reckon it is 40.6 inches.

Please can we have a pic of tape measure around the pumpkin from anyone wanting theirs to be judged the biggest, as per the rules in the first post.

If you only want yours to be judged as pretty, it doesn't matter  :D
