OK everyone, what will you be doing with the insides of your pumpkins when you carve them for halloween?

Throw them in the bin?
Soup?
Something else?

All ideas, especially healthy ones, gratefully received!

We love pumpkin pie ( very unhealthy - but lovely)

We would do the Jack O Lantern then make mini pumpkin pies to give away to the trick or treaters - many used to come back for seconds and loved it that it was different!

My son wants me to make pumpkin Jam ( Never heard of it!)

Last year made pumpkin cake - it was rather like carrot cake - but I cannot find the recipe!!! :(

made pumpkin jam last year but not impressed grew the italian variety that they use for jam  - it had vanilla in the recipe but the overall taste was a sort of earthy sweetness with vanilla overtones sounds weird but best description I cold come up with - it could be just the way mine turned out but no one liked it and two jars are still in the cupboard.

Curry the  flesh, roast the seeds with some salt & pepper, roast any extra flesh.

Chx & turkeys eat the seeds and for the flesh pumpkin pie is just amazing.  If you have any preconceptions of what this might taste like the reality will come as a very delicious surprize. :tongue2:

Compost???? what a criminal waste Trillium :tongue2:

Pumpkin flavour is so dull compared to my luscious Red Kuri squash. they resemble pumpkins but have a pointy top and not quite so ridged. And the flesh is so sweet, just what my sweet tooth needs  :D
