Chook Eating Varities
« on: May 01, 2011, 10:56 »
A couple of days ago I was suprised to see one of our cockerels with frogs legs dangling out of his beak. I just wanted to ask; Is it healthy for chickens to eat things like that including bees and frogs?

I'm not sure about bees (in case of sting) but otherwise I think hens are pretty omnivorous and will eat all kinds of bugs and slugs as well as larger things if they can get them.  There was a thread about a hen eating a baby bird.  In the wild I think they forage for what they can get.
