About the same as you Sally, maybe a few less.   Say 60 packets but I will confess that some of mine are 1kg sized.    :o

WHOA!  Mine are all neat little packs - many from Real Seeds, a few from Marshalls and one or two odd other ones.  All contained in the size of a shoe box! 8)

I have recently been brutal and culled a large proportion of mine  - having been distracted by the small issue of moving both house and country haven't grown much for the last two years and many were getting a bit past it. Probably still quite a few though - I can't count as I don't live where I garden. Have started writing the year opened on the packet so at least in future I'll know whether they're geriatric or not!

So fluffypebble, at least Sally is impressed by size ...  :D

10kg coriander seed (for leaf production)
1kg leek seed (for baby leeks)
1kg spring onion seed (salad crop)
50,000 shallot seeds (for pickling and smoking)

Most final crops are for sell/trade (barter) to local hotel and restaurants.  Happy to trade ya almost anything (doesn't have to be seeds) for some of the above.

50,000 shallots????  Who has the job of peeling them?????

I've got 86 packets, but they are not all full, an some are saved from last year like toms and chillies and many are swaps

That seed will last me a year or two but I do make a lot of pickles.  Smoking is even better because you don't need to peel them.

Glad to see you've cleaned up this thread a bit.

mine are saved seed from plants grown salkeela ..runner beans french climbing beans dwarf french, i always save a couple of lbs from my last planting .i stagger these plants planting a couple 3 weeks intween each sowing .i get about 100 lbs approx from cropping and save from the last sowing letting them go to seed ,.i let the first pods on the bottom trusses ripen by using shears on the growing tips when they reach 6 ft and the plant then puts great vigour into forming first class seed

Yes I know.  I have courgette seeds & pumpkin seeds & a couple of tom seeds "saved" in that sense, and about 30 - 40 packets that I would regard as "stored" rather than saved - meaning they were bought last year or earlier!  (Admittedly some of them never got planted!     This year I aim to plant much more - certainly I have more ground prepared. :D

Actually I lied. I have two packets of tomato seeds that I forgot about.

Have since been given broad beans. Also bought onion sets yesterday and fruit bushes/canes today but they are not seeds so don't count I presume.
