I found a bargain today (I hope!)
« on: January 22, 2011, 18:55 »
Today I bought two dog kennels to use as coops. They are 120x80x100cm 12mm T&G with a T&G pent roof (although it is covered in crappy felt paper). All I have to do is make a door for them and add some perches and ventilation holes et voilà

The price???

25€ each (reduced from 99€)

I went and propped it all together to take some photos...

Just so you can judge the size better

And the inside:

I need to hammer a few joins together a bit better, and sand off all the rough edges, and give the whole thin a coat of exterior paint... however, all in all not bad for 25€ me thinks!

super price - well done  :). Don't forget the nest boxes as well - or if you get ducks they don't need perches etc  ;) :D
Staffies are softer than you think.

I was planning on removable internal nest boxes to help with cleaning, and also for cleaning purposes I'll probably latch one of the sides so it comes away completely. With L brackets on the inside for the other three walls it shouldn't compromise hull integrity too much (lord, I've been watching too much SciFi lately!). I may also hinge the roof on that side too, and have the apex covered with flexible onduline instead of the fixed bracket.

Unfortunately no ducks for me, no matter how cute indian runners are!
