Mr Fothergill’s Recalls Some Courgette Zucchini Seeds from Ranges

This follows a small number of complaints from customers who have experienced stomach pain and nausea after eating fruits.

Thanks for that John, since most of my seeds are years old I might be ok  but I have been reading here & elsewhere of this issue. Wonder if other seed companies are having/doing the same?

I don't suppose that all the courgette seeds that the various seed suppliers have, were bought from the same source.

Just a heads up to add to the trauma of harvesting - Thompson and Morgan have had a similar issue but do not seem to be advertising the problem. Theory is that the seed supplier may be supplying more than one retailer.

New here (first post ever!) so I hope I am doing this right.

Welcome, NannyGreen

There are remarkably few seed producers in the market so it doesn't surprise me one bit that the same problem is arising with another seed merchant.

Thank you for the welcome and I totally agree with your comment.  I am a bit annoyed that this has not had more media coverage given that there are so many 'new' gardeners while we are all under house arrest. How are they supposed to know?

As far as I know it is only the Zucchini F1 that has the problem.  My Zucchini F1 came from Dobies but I was still a bit hesitant to do the lick test as I only have 1 plant (just me to feed), happy to say no bitter taste so my courgette plant is safe and continues to produce.
