There are garden versions of nepeta which have been bred for a bigger and better display of flowers, but they are the same family as the true herb and yes, you will get cats rolling around in them getting blissed out.

Some cats really go for it and some don't.

Thanks for your answers, I will cross that plant off my list.   Although I am fond of cats,   I Don't want the little blighters in my garden    Mrs B
