OMG! Just seen images and a reporter from there about the extreme weather they're having. I have a friend out there plus another one I follow with her three cats on FB, and so feel for everybody. Just when they were hoping to have a good festive time after Covid as well.  Keep safe and as warm as you can.

Some areas will take it in their stride being used to harsh winters - the ones with real problems are the states that just don't get this sort of weather. Houses with more air conditioning to cool than heating. Frozen pipes etc.

I just posted in the "What's the weather like where you are?" thread.  It is -14C here right now, likely a record low for the date, but not an all-time record low. Colder in the mountains (coldest so far today is -20 C).
