Hi all few weeks ago i potted up some shallots into modules in greenhouse, and its been quiet warm in there and they have sprouted like mad...need advice on what to do, can i put them outside under fleece or will i have to leave them to it

what variety are they? I think griselle (something spelling like that  ) is the autumn planting ones.

hi there they are jeromour and also various ones i have kept back from this year

Shallots are tough. Put them outside, no need for fleece.

Best to plant them out if the ground is anything like.

the traditional time to plant shallots is on the shortest day (December 21st) OR on Boxing Day (sod that for a lark)

Still a bit early.

I usually start mine off in a cold frame in January and plant out end of February (weather permitting)  I always get a good crop.....
