ducks and bad weather
« on: October 20, 2009, 12:54 »
Hi, i have another question , now that the weather is getting bad do i need to do anything else for my 2 muscovy ducks, they free range during the day and have a hen house they sleep in overnight. we are having a really heavy rain storm at the moment and they dont seem to be taking shelter is this normal.

They're fine in bad weather and will seek shelter if they need it but tbh i rarely find them doing that :)

It has been known in frost weather for this lot to break the ice and swim under it on the pond, makes me shiver just thinking about it

Only thing I make sure in bad weather is that they have a dry layer of bedding at night and any frozen water gets broken into smaller pieces :)

Sarah :)
