I grow "Durham Early" and won't be sowing until late July/early August.

No, not at all, Lisa.

I have just sown some Christmas Drumhead (http://www.molesseeds.co.uk/acatalog/Products_Christmas_Drumhead_3946.html) for an early winter crop and some F1 Celtic (http://www.molesseeds.co.uk/acatalog/Products_F1_Celtic_3947.html) to harvest after that.

They are more what you'd call "Winter Cabbage" and not what most folk would call spring cabbage for harvesting as spring greens and then later as mature cabbage.

I'm going to plant out my winter cabbage this weekend and then late July/early August I will sow my spring cabbage although I think we might be sick of cabbage by then, got about 50 summer cabbages at the allotment, still there'll be plenty to give away  :)

Many thanks for replys we have alot of cabbage in but most should be out by oct we may be sick of it by then!!!!!!!!!!!!have ordered some plants from marshalls which includes a cabbage you can harvest from oct onwards so might be ok.Will be more organised next year only ordered plants due to forgetting to plant kale so got a deal for set of plants which included cabbage kale and brocolli .plan on doing things much more cheaply next year ie growing everything myself ,saying that havent spent much this year and am saving on my shopping bill every week!!
