Autumn Bliss Raspberries
« on: February 22, 2019, 07:24 »
My raspberry bed is pretty old can I dig everything out put some compost /manure back in give it a good clear of grass and replant with current canes which I dug out in the beginning or will such movement stress my plants and damage this years harvest.  Should I wait until the coming Autumn ???

Thanks

I think you should be ok removing them now as long as you keep their roots moist by covering them up while you get the bed sorted out. They seem to be pretty hardy things so shouldn't get too stressed.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

well I tried but infortunately the ground was so compact it was a bigger/harder job than I was up to.  So I moved some & tidied it up the best I could and mulched with manure.

I hope I can tackle it in the autumn
