Hello everybody.
First lottie year and I'm enjoying it immensely.
Get down there at least once a week and the exercise does me good.
However, the cropping and eating is so much better.
I never realised how much pleasure you can get from fresh veg.
The lettuce,radish,peas,snap peas,broad beans,spinach,beetroot,garlic,cabbage and potatoes that we've eaten so far have been fantastic.
However, the scent of carrot as it's pulled is superb. No wonder the carrot fly loves it.
Not having grown any other vegetables before is there anything to compare with the mighty carrot?

hmmmm carrots just wiped off on your sleeve and munch ... hard to beat it.

i must admit i am a bit of a grazer at the lottie - just love to eat my veg raw - there and then ... can't get those sugar snaps any further than my comfy lottie chair - god knows what they are like cooked

Splodger - the secret is to plant too many to eat on the plot in on sitting  

Carrots have been our revelation too - just so much more, well, CARROTTY than shop ones!!  And spuds that actually taste of something...

I have been disappointed in my carrots but so far have only tasted one variety and have planted 4 varieties so there is time to change my mind yet!  The peas though are superb, I have little marvel on the go at the moment and they are doing well, have had 3 meals eaten so far and one meals worth in the freezer.  But like splodger a fair few have not made it as far as the pot as I love them raw too!  Ditto to everything bar the spuds really.
