hi ya :) my soil is very stoney carrots dont do to well it, so i thought about making a deep bed with sifted compost mixed with sifted soil and sharp sand, i thought about using builders sharp sand or would i need a horticulturel type sharp sand ...................pete

I did a similar thing this year I raked my carrot bed over several times to remove stones and mixed in some left over sharp sand from my diy projects. I had some really good carrots.

Alternatively you could create a raised bed and fill it with used compost
