Just been to check on my chooks and saw my first egg, just siting there, small but perfectly formed! I certainly didn't expect one so soon, but one of the girls just looked different...so I popped in the shed to check and hey presto  :lol:

You can pick them up and feel for widened pelvis in the one that has started laying.
Mind you we think we attributed our first egg to the wrong hen - she must have been saying 'what on earth is going on - that's not mine!' when we posed her with the egg in front of her!!
